Research Coordinator

Yu-Zhen Tu

Yu-Zhen graduated from the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences and Medical Biotechnology, National Taiwan University College of Medicine, and is a licensed medical technologist in Taiwan. He is now a graduate student in Dr. Goh’s lab. fMRI studies have shown that theory of mind and empathy are associated with neural activity in the default mode and mirror neuron systems. Also, older adults have greater difficulty in identifying others’ emotion and theory-of-mind tasks. Thus, Yu-Zhen’s research interest is in the relationship between empathy and normal aging, the neural mechanisms involved, and their possible use as an indicator for dementia of the Alzheimer’s type.
