Understanding how intelligent systems work

Chun-Wei Hsu (許珺崴)  Ph. D.

Postdoctoral Associate

I was a Marie Curie Fellow in CogNovo program at the University of Plymouth, and I have been awarded a Ph.D. in July 2018. I have an M.Sc. in Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Sheffield and double bachelor degrees in Life Science and Psychology at the National Taiwan University.

I came back to Taiwan and started my Postdoc researcher position in the BMLab since June 2021. Before this position, I was a Postdoc researcher in the Laboratory ICube at the University of Strasbourg.

Currently I’m involved in an integrated project “Decoding and promoting resilient brains: from multivariate profiling to intervention”. We seek more objective indicators to bolster the overall profile of resilience, e.g., use neural activity during resting state fMRI (rsfMRI) to quantify psychological resilience.

Outside of academia, I am a fitness enthusiast. I obtained certificates of Fitness Instructing and Personal Training both in the UK and Taiwan. I believe that exercise is the most transformative thing you can do to upgrade your brain. Movement is the only reason we have brain (TED talk) Let’s Be Smart Be Fit
